After spending hours exploring the vast Dubai Mall, our stomachs were growling with hunger and anticipation. We were particularly excited to dine at The Cheesecake Factory, a favorite of ours from our time in the USA. However, our excitement was met with disappointment when we learned that the wait time was a whopping 90 minutes!
With a tight schedule and no time to spare, we decided to make a quick detour to Markette, a charming restaurant conveniently located right next to The Cheesecake Factory.
Discovering Markette
Markette is a heartwarming eatery that offers a delightful array of homemade goodness, great coffee, and an assortment of fresh, comforting dishes. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating options, making it a perfect spot to unwind.
Given our tight schedule, we opted for dishes that were minimal yet easily consumable. To our pleasant surprise, the food arrived in just 15 minutes, right on schedule!
Our Delicious Choices
First up was the Chicken Quesadilla. This classic Mexican dish, filled with scrumptious chicken and cheese nestled between tortillas, was served with a side of sour cream topped with jalapeños. It was cheesy, flavorful, and a fantastic choice for a satisfying lunch.
Next, we tried the Japanese Fried Rice. This dish was visually appealing, served with a satay stick, egg, veggies, and crunchy toppings. One bite and we were hooked! As a rice enthusiast, I found this dish to be perfectly delightful. The egg, although simple, was made just right.
The combination of rice with crunchy toppings and the smokey, tasty satay was a winning combination.
A Sweet Ending
To round off our meal, we ordered tiramisu and a healthy green juice. Bhargav took a sip of the green juice first but wasn’t a fan, so he passed it to Poorna, who also wasn’t keen on it. Eventually, I took on the green juice challenge and finished it off, focusing on its health benefits rather than its taste.
Meanwhile, Poorna and Bhargav indulged in the tiramisu, and it was clear they were in dessert heaven. Tiramisu lovers will agree—it’s hard to resist a good one!
Final Thoughts
Our quick lunch at Markette turned out to be a delightful experience. The food was delicious, and the service was prompt. If you ever find yourself at Dubai Mall and need a quick, satisfying meal, I highly recommend stopping by Markette. It’s definitely worth a visit!
