Rava kesari

Ingredients:

Sooji/rava                                –  1 cup
sugar                                        –  2 cup
ghee                                         –   4 tbsp
cashews                                   – 10 broken
raisins                                     – 10
cardamom powder                 – 1 pinch
food colour                            – 1 pinch
Water                                      – 3 cups

Method:

  • In a pan pour 1 tbsp ghee and fry the cashews and raisins into golden brown
  • Remove and keep it aside
  • Again fry the rava in the same pan until you feel good aroma then remove and keep it aside
  • Now add the water and allow it to boil.
  • Add  cardamom powder& food colour followed by rava
  • After two minutes add sugar too
  • Few minutes later when water is almost reduceddadd the remaining ghee and cashews and raisins and switch of the stove
  • Cover the lid for 5 minutes
  • Great tasting rava kesari is ready
