Country chicken Pepper masala(Nattu kozhi kuzhambu)
Ingredients:
country chicken        –   750 g
small onion               –    400g
tomato                       –    11/2
ginger garlic paste     –   11/2 tbsp
curry leaves                –     few
pepper                         –    1 tsp
salt                               –  to taste
turmeric                       –  1/4 tsp
oil                                –  2 tbsp
FOR GRINDING:
coriander seeds                       –   11/2 tbsp
cumin seeds                             –   1 tsp
fennel seed                              –   1/2 tsp
pepper corns                            –   1 tsp
khus khus                                –    1 tbsp
cashews                                   –    6 whole
red chillies                               –     2
cloves                                      –      2
cinnamon                                 –      1/2 inch
Method:

In a pan dry roast the ingredients given above for grinding until a nice aroma comes out

allow it to cool off and blend it in a mixer into a coarse powder and keep it aside

In a pressure cooker add oil and fry small onion and curry leaves

After the onion gets transparent add the ginger garlic paste

After the raw smell goes off add the chopped tomatoes

Stir well for a minute and add the ground masala powder
Add salt and turmeric
Mix well and add the chicken
After few minutes add 11/2 cup of water and close the lid



Pressure cook for upto 5 whistles(or until the country chicken gets cooked because it takes longer time to get cooked than a normal chicken)
Open the cooker after the pressure goes off .
garnish with curry leaves
Serve with hot rice,idli,dosa
