Ingredients

Besan flour-1cup

Rice flour-1table spoon(optional)
Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder-1/4 tsp
Asafoetida-2pintch
Egg-1
Salt-to taste
Plantain-1
Potato-1

Method

  • Take a small bowl, add besan powder, Rice flour(optional), Chilli powder,asafoetida,cumin powder and salt. mix well.
  • add an egg and water then mix all the ingredients well to make a smooth creamy batter.

  • Wash and clean Plantain (Vazhakkai) and potato.
  • While cutting the plantains apply little bit oil on your hands and on the knife. Peel off the outer layer of the plantains. Cut the plantain and potato into thin slices using a slicer

Heat the oil wide flat frying pan,when the oil is hot dip the potato or plantain in the batter slowly put in the oil. fry it until golden brown.
Drain the oil by using paper towels to absorb any extra oil
