Keema kootu
Keema kootu is an interesting combination of minced meat and lentils and tempered with spices. It is high protein dish with little fat too.It goes well with Rice/Chapathi.
Ingredients
Mutton keema         -200g
Chana dhal/ Bengal gram-1/4 cup heaped
shredded coconut      -11/2 tbsp
pepper powder        -1/4 tsp
Oil                 -2 tsp
To temper:
Cumin seeds    -1/2 tsp
Green chilies    -3
Whole red chilies-3
chopped ginger  -1 tsp
curry leaves    -few
chopped onion  -3 tbsp
chopped tomato -1 tbsp
Salt          -to taste
Turmeric      -1/4 tsp
Preparation time:5 min
Cooking time   :20-25 min
Method:
- In a pressure cooker cook keema and chana dhal in a cup of water and little salt for up to 3 whistles.
- In a pan heat oil and temper with first 5 ingredients.
- Then add the chopped onions and the tomatoes .After it gets little cooked put  required salt and turmeric.
- Cook until mushy.
- After the pressure goes off open the lid and add the tempering to it.
- Also add the shredded coconut and cook until all blends well and nice aroma comes out.
- Finally sprinkle some pepper powder and garnish with cilantro.
- Serve over Rice/Chapathi
