Picture this – it’s a crisp six in the morning, the air filled with the scent of anticipation and a light drizzle to set the mood. We kicked off our day with a spontaneous trip to Kovalam Beach, sans breakfast. The clouds, dressed in hues of gray, transformed the beach into a mesmerizing canvas of blackish-green beauty. The iconic lighthouse stood tall, teasing us with its closed doors. But hey, that didn’t stop us from soaking in the unique charm, snapping some pics, and just reveling in the moment.
Word on the street (or the beach) was that Hawa Beach was just a stone’s throw away. Excited, we made our way there, and what awaited us was a sight to remember. Imagine a crowd of enthusiastic folks, all rallying together to push a boat into the water. It took a village, and it was genuinely heartwarming to witness the collective effort. There’s something about the sound of waves and the hustle of people that makes a beach come alive, even in the rain.
Next stop – the Palace. The journey to get there was almost as enchanting as the destination itself. A narrow path with white walls led us to the historical marvel. Tickets in hand, we embarked on a walk surrounded by banana trees, setting the tone for what awaited us inside. Cameras clicked away outside, as sadly, videos weren’t allowed indoors. But trust me, the beauty of the place and the adjacent Chitralayam Museum are worth the visit. You can catch a glimpse of it on our channel – a visual feast for history buffs!
Back at the hotel, we traded our explorer hats for swim gear. The terrace swimming pool offered a panoramic view that can only be described as breathtaking. Lounge chairs lined the sides, inviting us to unwind. Without a second thought, we plunged into the water, laughter echoing around us. If you’re wondering – yes, we’re definitely making a return trip to that pool tomorrow!
Post-swim, hunger struck, and in-room dining was the solution. Pizza and salads were the order of the day – a bit of a mix to satisfy all our cravings. With our energy restored, thoughts turned to the evening plans. A movie night it is! “Ponniyan Selvan” had us intrigued, and with dinner on the horizon, we were geared up for a cozy night in.
But wait, the day wasn’t done surprising us. Off to Poovar Island for a backwater boat ride – a haven for nature enthusiasts. The scenery was nothing short of breathtaking, offering a perfect backdrop for countless pictures and videos. As an extra treat, we stumbled upon a movie shoot, adding a dash of glam to our exploration.
