Hello foodies! Today, we’re back in the vibrant city of Madurai, exploring a unique dining experience at Rikabi Multi Cuisine Restaurant. Known for its diverse menu, this restaurant offers a blend of North Indian, Chinese, and Tandoor specialties, along with exciting treats like gola, falooda, kulfi, and a range of paans – a rare find in Madurai! Let’s dive into the details of our visit, from the ambiance to the delicious dishes.
As we approached Rikabi, we noticed a charming little falooda and kulfi stall right by the entrance. Above it, a board proudly displayed their latest menu additions, piquing our curiosity about what awaited us inside.
The restaurant itself is set in a refurbished house, giving it a cozy, homely atmosphere. Thoughtfully decorated with warm lighting and tasteful decor, it creates an inviting vibe that immediately made us feel relaxed. We chose a snug corner seat, perfect for a laid-back evening.
Rikabi’s menu is extensive, covering a wide range of Chinese, North Indian, and Tandoor options. With prices varying from ₹40 to ₹450, there’s something for every budget and craving. We skipped the appetizers this time to go straight to the main courses, focusing on bread, rice, and curry varieties.
1. Paneer Paratha
We kicked things off with the Paneer Paratha, freshly baked in a tandoor. This method gave it a delightful smoky finish. The paratha was perfectly layered with soft paneer, and Bhargav enjoyed his with a side of yogurt. The smoky aroma and the blend of flavors made it a delicious start to our meal!
2. Burnt Garlic Chicken Fried Rice
Poorna opted for the Burnt Garlic Chicken Fried Rice, a flavorful choice loaded with spring onions, carrots, beans, and a rich garlic aroma that blended well with the rice. The texture was spot on, with each bite delivering a satisfying crunch from the vegetables. Poorna mentioned that adding a side of Honey Chicken would have made it even more indulgent!
3. Singaporean Veg Fried Rice
My choice was the Singaporean Veg Fried Rice, a flavorful dish with a mild spice profile. Though it was slightly oily, the taste was fantastic, with every bite bursting with spices that reminded me of classic Asian flavors. This one is definitely for those who enjoy a richly spiced vegetarian option.
4. Garlic Naan with Butter Chicken
Bhargav couldn’t resist ordering the classic combo of Garlic Naan with Butter Chicken. The naan was beautifully topped with roasted garlic pieces, though it was a bit tougher to tear than expected. However, the Butter Chicken made up for it with its creamy, flavorful gravy. The naan and butter chicken pairing was still delightful and full of flavor, making it a comforting end to our main course.
After dinner, we explored the outdoor seating area. With swings and beautiful lighting, it offered a picturesque ambiance, making it a perfect spot to unwind for a few minutes after a hearty meal. The serene setting provided a nice break from the bustling city atmosphere.
Overall, our experience at Rikabi Multi Cuisine Restaurant was thoroughly enjoyable. With a calm ambiance, cozy seating, and a wide variety of flavorful dishes, it’s a wonderful place for a relaxed meal at a reasonable price. Whether you’re in the mood for North Indian, Tandoor, or Chinese flavors, Rikabi delivers a satisfying experience. If you’re in Madurai and craving a multi-cuisine treat, this is a spot you’ll want to visit!
