Breakfast at Sree Suprabatham – A Peaceful Vegetarian Delight on Kollam Highway

Hi foodies, welcome to Mellow Bites! On our way to Kollam, we took an early morning breakfast stop at Sree Suprabatham, a pure vegetarian restaurant. Hungry and travel-worn, we were looking forward to a comforting meal.

First Impressions – Silent & Soothing Ambience

As we stepped inside, we immediately noticed the peaceful and soothing atmosphere. Despite being busy, the restaurant was calm and noise-free, making it a relaxing place to enjoy breakfast. The menu card was simple, offering ulunda vada, idli, plain dosa, poori, masala dosa, ven pongal, setkal dosa, and meals for lunch.

Our Breakfast Choices – Ghee Roast, Masala Dosa & Poori

  • Ghee Roast Dosa: The crispy cone-shaped dosa was a sight to behold! It was served with sambar only, without chutneys. The taste was unbeatably delicious, making it one of the best ghee roasts we’ve ever had.
  • Masala Dosa: Stuffed with the same potato curry served with poori, it was flavorful and satisfying.
  • Poori & Aloo Curry: A pleasant surprise awaited us – wheat poori instead of maida! It was soft and well-cooked, making it a rare and delightful find. The aloo curry was one of the best we’ve ever had.

Bhargav loved the ghee roast so much that he ordered another one, becoming playful and cheerful as he enjoyed every bite.

Ending on a Perfect Note – Filter Coffee & Tea

To complete our meal, we ordered filter coffee and tea.

  • Bhargav, a true coffee lover, eagerly waited for his coffee to cool down slightly before taking his first sip. The quality and taste were excellent.
  • Tea: Being a rare tea drinker, I am very particular about its taste, and this one was absolutely delicious!

Final Thoughts – A Must-Try Vegetarian Breakfast Spot

The bill was very reasonable, considering the quality, hygiene, and taste of the food. If you are traveling on the Kollam highway, make sure to stop by Sree Suprabatham for a peaceful, tasty, and satisfying breakfast experience.
