A Complete IKEA Food Court Experience – From Swedish Meatballs to Chocolate Cheesecake

After a long and satisfying shopping spree at IKEA, we decided to recharge ourselves with a hearty lunch at the IKEA restaurant. Dining at IKEA is not just about food – it’s an experience in itself. The cafeteria-style setup makes it easy for families and groups to choose their meals while standing in line.

As we entered, the menu was clearly displayed on the boards and all around the counters, with prices neatly listed. This setup helped us decide what to eat well in advance. IKEA offers everything from quick bites like cookies, wraps, and desserts to complete main courses featuring Swedish delicacies.

We grabbed trays and a trolley before entering the line, which allowed us to pick up dishes directly from the display counters. Tempting desserts and colorful wraps were stacked neatly. Though the cookie packets looked inviting, we skipped them and instead chose a decadent three-layer chocolate cheesecake.

For the main course, we went with three popular dishes – the iconic Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and jam, the roasted chicken legs with potato wedges and sauce, and a flavorful Mexican rice bowl. Along the way, we also picked up a fresh veg wrap filled with spinach tortilla, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and juicy veggies.

The service was fast despite the crowd. Once billed, we found a spacious seating area and settled down to enjoy our meal.

Taste Review:

  • Mexican Rice – tasty but slightly dry, could have been juicier.
  • Swedish Meatballs – perfectly cooked with rich brown sauce, creamy mashed potatoes, and sides.
  • Veg Wrap – light, refreshing, and packed with crunchy vegetables.
  • Roasted Chicken Legs – juicy inside with flavorful sauce, though a little dry on top.
  • Chocolate Cheesecake – the highlight of the meal, rich and drool-worthy.

After finishing, we deposited our trays at the dedicated station and continued our IKEA shopping spree. Overall, the IKEA restaurant experience was wholesome, budget-friendly, and perfect for families looking to refuel during their shopping trip.
