Mango Rice

Ingredients:
Mango (unriped)    – 1 medium shredded Â
Rice             – 1 cup
Red chillies        – 3
Green chillies sliced – 3
mustard seeds     – 1 tsp
urad dhal         – 1 tbsp
chana dhal        – 1 tbsp
peanuts          – 1 tbsp
turmeric          – 1/8 tsp
salt              – to taste
curryleaves        – few
cilantro           – for garnishing
oil              – 8 tbsp
hing             – 1 pinch
Method:
- Cook the rice in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water and needed salt.
- Heat oil in a kadai(pan) add mustard seeds to it .
- After it splutters add red chillies , green chillies, turmeric and hing.
- add urad dhal ,chana dhal, peanuts, curryleaves one after the other
- Now add the shredded mango to it and salt .
- cook until the raw flavour of the mango goes off
- Now you can add the cooked rice and mix them well.
- garnish with chopped cilantro
- goes well with plantain chips
