Mint coconut chutney



Ingredients:




Mint leaves              –          1 cup
roasted chana dhal    –         2 tbsp(pottu kadalai)
shredded coconut     –         1/2 cup
onion                        –        1/2 sliced
tomato                        –       1/2 sliced
green chillies              –      2 nos
garlic                          –      1 clove
salt                              –      1 tsp
oil                                –      1 tsp

For tempering:

Mustard seeds   –         1/2 tsp
urad dhal           –           1/2 tsp

Method:

  • heat oil in a pan and add garlic cloves and green chilies .
  • fry for a minute and add sliced onion. 
  • After it turns transparent add chopped tomatoes.  
  • Fry for 2 minutes and add mint leaves and salt.
  • Fry until mint leaves get shrinked,
  • follow it by  roasted chana dal and shredded coconut and fry for 1 minute.
  • Allow it to cool  off and blend into fine texture
  • In a pan neat oil and temper it with mustard seeds and urad dal.
  • Serve with Idli/dosa
