Chana masala
Ingredients:
channa                           1 cup
onion                             2 ground to a fine paste
ginger garlic paste         2 tsp
tomato                            1 pureed
whole garam                    to temper
cumin seeds                    1 tsp
turmeric                          1 pinch
coriander powder            1 tbsp
cumin powder                  11/2 tsp
garam powder                   to sprinkle
chilli powder                      11/2 tsp
amchur powder                 1/2 tsp
cilantro                               to garnish
oil                                      2 tbsp
Method:
- Soak channa overnight or at least 5 hours.
- pressure cook channa for 3 whistles
- In kadai heat oil add whole garam and cumin seeds
- add ginger garlic paste and turmeric
- After the raw smell goes off pour the ground onion paste
- Fry till the paste reduces and oil oozes out(until golden brown
- Add pureed tomatoes after a min start adding all spice powders and desired salt
- cover the lid for 5 minutes.
- add the cooked chana and desired water according to the consistency you need for the gravy
- cook it for 5 minutes and Garnish with cilantro
- Serve with naan or chapathi
