Chicken Biriyani
Ingredients:
Chicken                       –         1/2 kg
Basmathi rice               –         11/2 cup
Coconut milk               –          1 cup
Onion                           –          3/4 cup sliced
Tomato                          –           1/4 cup sliced
whole garam                 Â
Ghee                            –          1 tbsp
salt                                – to taste
turmeric                         – 1/8 tsp
For Grinding
Ginger                  –   11/2 inch
Garlic              – 6-8 cloves
greenchillies   – 8
fennel seeds     – 1/4 tsp
coriander         – few
Pudhina           – 12-15 leaves
corianderseeds – 1 tsp
cumin seeds     – 1/2 tsp
whole garam
Method:

In a blender grind the above ingredients for grinding into a fine smooth paste and keep it aside

In a cooker heat ghee and add the whole garam

Now add the sliced onions

After it becomes transparent add the sliced tomatoes

After  a  minute add the chicken and salt and turmeric

Mix it well and fry for few seconds now add the ground paste

mix well and close the cooker and pressure cook for 1 -3 whistles (depending upon the quality of chicken getting cooked)

 Now after the pressure goes off add the coconut milk and 11/2 cup of water and desired salt for rice

Simultaneously wash the rice and add it once the mixture starts boiling

cover the cooker and cook for one whistle and take out off the flame.Once the pressure goes off open it and garnish with chopped cilantro

Stir well and enjoy the yummy biriyani with raitha
