Tomato and garlic curry(thakali kothsu)

Ingredients:

Tomato                               –   1/2 kg
Garlic                                 –   12 – 15 cloves
onion                                 –   1 medium sliced
mustard seeds                    –   1/2 tsp
urad dhal                           –   1/2 tsp
curry leaves                      –     few
green chillies                   –     4
coconut milk                    –     1 cup

Method:

  • In a cooker heat oil  allow mustard seeds to splutter
  • add urad dhal,green chillies,curry leaves,onion and garlic
  • Simultaneously  finely grind the tomatoes
  • add tomato puree and salt
  • After a minute close the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistle
  • After pressure goes off open and add 1 cup of coconut milk and 1 cup of water
  • once it starts boiling take off and serve with idli or rice or chapathi
