Sweet Pongal(chakkarai pongal)
Ingredients:
Raw rice                  1 cup
achuvellam                 10 (big size)
cashews                     10
raisins                          10
cardamom                   3
ghee                             5 – 6 tbsp
Method:

in a pan heat 1 tbsp ghee and fry cashews and raisins in it until brown and keep it aside

Crush the achu vellam with a hammer finely and keep it aside

wash and cook rice in 5 cups of water

when the rice is almost done add cardamom powder,crushed achuvellam

After the vellam melts add the fried cashews and raisins

Stir well adding the remaining ghee slowly and switch off the stove
Serves 4
