kothavarangai Poriyal

Ingredients

Kothavarangai         –  300 g
small onion              –   4-5
oil                            –    1 tsp
mustard seeds         – 1/4 tsp
urad dhal                 –  1/2 tsp
chilli powder          –   1/2 tsp
salt                          –    to taste
cumin powder         –   1/2 tsp
curry leaves             –    few
gram flour               –   1 tbsp

 Method:

  • wash the (clusterd beans) kothavarangai in water and cut into inch size pieces
  • in a cooker heat oil add mustard seeds and allow it splutter
  • add urad dhal and curry leaves
  • add onions and turmeric
  • add the kothavarangai and salt .
  • after a minute add cumin powder,chilli powder and a little water
  • Pressure cook for 1 whistle
  • after the pressure goes off add gram flour and allow it to thicken
