Vermicelli kheer (semiya payasam)

Ingredients:

vermicelli                    –           1 cup
milk                            –            3 cups
condensed milk           –            350 g
sugar                            –           2-3 tbsp
Ghee                            –           1 tbsp
cashews                        –           few
raisins                           –            few
cardamom                     –           1 pinch
saffron                           –           little
almonds                         –           sliced to garnish

Method:

  • Heat ghee in  a kadai fry cashews and raisins
  • add 1 cup of vermicelli  and fry until golden

  • Add 3 cups of milk to it and allow it to boil.Then add  saffron and cardamom.
    • stir well and add condensed milk and sugar
    • Cook for few more minutes.
                                           

     Garnish with shredded almonds
