Fish Thokku
Ingredients:
Fish                            –  1 kg
onion                          – 1 finely chopped
Tomato                        – 1 kg
salt                              – to taste
chilli powder              – 1 tbsp
coriander powder       – 1 tbsp
cumin powder             –  1 tsp
turmeric                     –   1/4 tsp
mustard seeds            –   1 tsp
fenugreek seeds         –   1/2 tsp
curry leaves                –   few
sesame oil                  –    4 tbsp
crushed ginger           –   1/2 inch
crushed garlic             –   3 cloves

Method:

In a pan heat sesame oil and temper with mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds and curry leaves

Add the crushed ginger and crushed garlic and fry until raw smell goes off

Following it add onions and fry it till it turns transparent

Add the finely chopped tomatoes and fry for a minute

Now add all the spices,salt and turmeric and mix well

Cook for atleast 15-20 minutes or until oil oozes out stirring occasionally
- Â Now slowly add the cleaned fish one by one into the gravy
- Cover it with a lid for 10 minutes and cook it on medium or cook until the fissh is done .At the middle of cooking turn each fish to the other side
- Serve with white rice or chapathi
