Collard greens curry

 

Ingredients:

Collard greens                    – 1 bunch
onions                                – 1/4 cup chopped
red chillies                        –   3 -4
mustard seeds                   –  1/2 tsp
urad dhal                          – 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds                     – 1/2 tsp
salt                                    – to taste
oil                                      – 2 tsp
shredded coconut              – 2 tbsp
 

Method:

  • Wash the collard greens  and cut the leaves finely (donot use the stem)
  • In a pressure cooker heat oil and temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,cumin seeds and red chillies
 
  • Add the onion and fry until it turns transparent.

  • 
 
  • Now put the chopped collard greens into it and stir it for a while
  •  
  • Add 1/2 cup water and salt and pressure cook upto 1 whistle
  • After the pressure goes off add 2 table spoon of shredded coconut to  it
  • 


cook for another 2 minutes
 
Serve with rice
