Gobi Jalfrezi/Cauliflower with bellpepper

 

Ingredients:

Cauliflower                     –   500 g
bell pepper                       –  1 cup cubed(different colour bell peppers are used but its entirely optional)
onion                              –   1  cubed
ginger garlic paste          –   2 tsp
tomato puree                  – 1/2 cup
 tomato                           –  1 (small )sliced
coriander powder           – 1tbsp
chilli powder                  – 2 tsp
garam masala                 –  1 tsp
salt                                  – to taste
turmeric                           -1/4 tsp
oil                                    –  1 tbsp
cilantro                           –  to garnish

 

Method:

     
  • Cut cauliflower into bite size florets
  • In a pan boil water and add salt and turmeric to it
  • Put cauliflower florets in batches into it for 3 minutes and take it out with a draining spoon

  • After it drains put directly in running cold water
  • Keep it aside
  • In another pan heat oil and add diced onions to it
  • After it turns transparent add the ginger garlic paste

After the raw smell goes off add the pureed tomatoes

Add the bellpeppers after 2 minutes

After 2 minutes add coriander powder,chilli powder,salt and garam masala

Mix well and once the masala blends well add the blanched cauliflower florets to it

Fry for 3 minutes and add the sliced tomatoes

Fry for another 8-10 minutes

  • Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice
