Ridge gourd milk kootu/Peerkangai paal kootu
Ingredients:
Ridge gourd peeled and cut into cubes   – 350 g
milk                                                         – 11/2 cup
mustard seeds                                          – 1/4 tsp
urad dhal                                                  – 1/4 tsp
channa dhal                                              -1/4 tsp
cumin seeds                                              – 1/4 tsp
red chillies                                               – 2
green chillies                                            – 2
curry leaves                                              – few
coriander powder                                      – 2 tsp
cilantro                                                     – to garnish
onion                                                         – 1 cup finely chopped
Method:
- In a kadai heat oil and temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,cumin seeds,channa dhal,red chillies,green chillies and curry leaves.
- Now add the chopped onion ,salt and coriander powderand fry until transparent.
- Add the milk and chopped ridge gourd it.
- Cook for 10 minutes or untilt he ridge gourd is done.
- Garnish with cilantro .
- Serve with Rice or chapathi
