Vazhaipoo kola/plantain flower kofta

 

Ingredients:

Vazhaipoo/plantain flower         – 2 cups
channa dhal                                – 1 cup
chopped onion                           –  1/4 cup
curry leaves                               – few chopped
fennel powder                           – 1/4 tsp
chilli powder                            – 1/4 tsp
green chillies                            – 3 finely chopped
cilantro                                     – few chopped
roasted channa dal powder      – 2tbsp
salt                                            – to taste
oil                                              – to fry

 

Method:

  • Soak channa dhal in water for 2 hours.
  • Drain it and allow it to dry for 1 hour.
  • In a blender grind the channa dhal coarsely and put it in a bowl
  • Grind the plantain flower coarsely and  put it in the same bowl
  • Add chopped onion,green chillies,chilli powder,fennel powder,salt,curry leaves ,cilantro and roasted chann dhal powder to it and mix well

  • Make it into small koftas
  • Deep fry in hot oil until golden 
Serves  hot for a delicious plantain flower kofta
