Crab curry

Crab curry

 

Ingredients:

Crab (precooked)        –  1 kg
small onion                 –   400 g
tomato                        –  2
ginger garlic paste     – 1 1/2 tbsp
Salt                            – to taste
chilli powder             – 1 tsp
coriander powder      – 11/2 tsp
cumin powder           – 11/2 tsp
turmeric                     – 1/4 tsp   
Pepper powder          – 1/2 tbsp
fennel seeds              -1/2 tsp
curry leaves              – few
cilantro                     – to garnish
Sesame oil                –  2 -3 tbsp
      
 

 

Method:

  •  In a pot  boil the cleaned crab in water and salt until it is well cooked (if you dont get a precooked crab)
  • In a pressure cooker heat oil and temper with fennel seeds.

  • Add the finely chopped  onions to it .

  • Once  it turns tansparent add the curryleaves


  • Then fry gingergarlic paste and turmeric untilt the raw flavour goes off.
  • Now put all spices to it and mix well  for a while.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook until tomato becomes mushy.
  • Now add the cooked crab and 2-3 cups of water.
  • Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
  • Once the pressure goes off add the chopped cilantro.
  • Serve with Rice or dosa
