Coriander coconut chutney


Ingredients:

Coriander leaves       –    1/2 cup
roasted chana dhal     –    1 tbsp(pottu kadalai)
shredded coconut       –    1/4 cup
onion                         –    1/4 sliced
Tamarind                   –    very little
green chillies              –    4 nos
garlic                         –    1 clove
salt                            –    1 tsp
oil                             –    1 tsp

For tempering:

Mustard seeds   –  1/2 tsp
urad dhal           –  1/2 tsp
Red chilli          –  1

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add garlic cloves and green chillies .

  • fry for a minute and add sliced onion. 
  • Fry for 2 minutes and add coriander leaves,tamarind and salt

  • Fry until coriander leaves get shrinked,
  • follow it by shredded coconut and  roasted chana dhal and fry for 1 minute.

  • Allow it to cool  off and blend into fine texture

  • In a pan heat oil and temper it with mustard seeds and urad dhal and red chillies

  • Serve with Idli/dosa
