Dried peas masala
Ingredients:
Dried peas        -2 cups
onion            -1/2 cup chopped
onion            -1/2 cup chopped
mustard seeds     -1/2 tsp
cumin seeds       -1/2 tsp
curry leaves       -few
coriander powder   -1 tbsp
cumin powder     -1 tsp
garam masala     -1 tsp
chilli powder      -11/2 tsp
turmeric         -little
salt             -to taste
cilantro          -to garnish
oil              -1 tbsp
To fry and grind:
onion          -2 cups sliced
tomatoes        -3 sliced
ginger garlic paste-11/2 tsp
oil             -2 tsp
Method:
- Soak dried peas in water over night.
- Pressure cook it for a whistle.
- Grind a handful of cooked dried peas into a fine paste
- In a pan heat oil and fry sliced onions until transparent.Add the ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw flavor goes off.
- Add in the sliced tomatoes and  fry until mushy.Add adequate salt for it .Switch off the stove and allow it to cool off
- Grind it into a fine paste and keep it aside.Â
- In a pan heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter.Temper with cumin seeds and curry leaves.
- Add finely chopped onions and fry until transparent.
- Add the ground onion-tomato paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add coriander powder,cumin powder,turmeric,salt, garam masala and chili powder .
- Cook for 2 minutes and add in the ground peas paste
- Mix well and add the cooked peas with adequate amount of water .
- Cover and cook well until the desired consistency  is reached
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and onions
