Tomato rasam/Thakkali rasam
Ingredients:
Tomato         -4
lemon juice      -2 tbsp
garlic cloves     -2
green chilies     -2
cilantro         -few finely chopped
curry leaves      -few
oil              -2 tsp
mustard seeds     -1/4 tsp
fenugreek seeds   -1/8 tsp
hing             -pinch
To grind:
pepper corns      -1 tsp
cumin seeds      -1 tsp
coriander seeds    -1/2 tsp
- Blend the ingredients to grind into a fine powder.
- In a blender puree the tomatoes.strain it in a strainer.
- In a pan heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter.temper with green chilies, fenugreek seeds, hing, garlic cloves.
- put the chopped cilantro and curry leaves.
- Add the tomato puree .After 2 minutes add the ground powder.
- cook  until it comes to a rolling boil .switch of the stove and add the lemon juice and adequate salt.Garnish with cilantro.
- Serve as a soup or along with rice .
