Mango/Mangai sambar
Ingredients:
Toor dhal               -1/2 cup
Raw mango              -1
shallots                 -8
tomato                  -1
sambar powder           -1 tbsp
salt                     -to taste
cilantro                 -to garnish
oil                     -1 tbsp
To temper:
mustard seeds          -1/2 tsp
urad dhal/split black gram-1/2 tsp
cumin seeds            -1/2 tsp
pepper corn            -little
fenugreek seeds         -1/4 tsp
hing                  -pinch
curry leaves            -few
turmeric               -little
Method:
- Pressure cook toor dhal by adding water for 1-2 whistle until the dhal is well done.
- In a kadai heat oil and temper with the ingredients given to temper.
- Fry shallots until transparent.
- Add in the chopped tomatoes.
- when the tomato becomes mushy add the chopped raw mango cubes.

- put the required salt & sambar powder.
- Add adequate water and cook until  raw mango is soft.
- Add the cooked dhal to it and let it boil
- Garnish with cilantro
- Serve over rice.
