MOCK MEAT INDIAN RECIPES
Mock meat recipes of cutlet and soup are made with plantain flower and plantain stem that tastes exactly like meat.
PLANTAIN FLOWER CUTLET:
INGREDIENTS:
oil – as needed to fry
onions -1/4 cup finely chopped
To grind:
Plantain flower -1 cup peeled
green chili-1
mint leaves-1/4 cup
cilantro-1/4 cup
fennel powder1 tsp
garam masala -1 tsp
chili powder-to taste
salt-to taste
whole cashews-8
Roasted bengal gram(daliya/pottukadalai)-11/2 tbsp
shredded coconut-11/2 tbsp
METHOD:
- To a blender grinded the ingredients listed in to grind into a paste without adding any water.
- Now transfer it into a bowl and mix chopped onions and make it into patties.
- Shallow fry on both sides until it turns golden
- Serve hot!!!
PLANTAIN STEM CLEAR SOUP
Ingredients:
platain stem -1 cup cut into cubes
curry leaves -1 cup
horse gram-1tbsp
shallots -6
garlic pods -3
salt-to taste
cumin powder-1tsp
turmeric -1/2 tsp
pepper -to taste
METHOD:
- In a pressure cooker add all the ingredients listed for the soup and 2 cups of water.
- Pressure cook for 5 whistles.
- Once the pressure goes off , strain the soup and warm it , sprinkkle pepper as needed and serve hot!!
