Protein Rich Breakfast Recipes with One Batter


Moong dal batter:

Ingredients:

  • Yellow lentils(moong dhal)-11/2 cup

  • Green chili-2

  • Ginger -¼ inch

  • Salt – to taste

Method :

  • Soak yellow lentils for at least an hour in water.

  • Then blend it into a smooth batter consistency along with salt, green chili, ginger and asafetida

  • Transfer it into a bowl.

  • Let’s start making 4 recipes using this batter.


Moong Dhal Idli

Method:

  • Take a required amount of batter for idli and a 1-2 pinch of baking soda and mix well.

  • This is added to get softer idlis.

  • In  an idli mould pour in batter (Check video) and steam it in a steam pot for 5-7 minutes.

  • Serve hot with Mint chutney /Tomato chutney


Moong Dhal Dosa

  • Take a required amount of batter for dosa and add in a tsp of cumin seeds and mix well.

  • Heat griddle pan and pour in a ladle of batter and spread it into a nice circle from inside to outside.

  • Drizzle some oil over the dosa.

  • Flip to the other side , when the bottom turns golden and crisp, spread ghee over the top , cook for a few seconds.

  • Serve hot with chutney of your choice.


Moong dhal Paniyaram:

Method:

  • To a bowl of batter, add chopped onion , chopped cabbage, chopped carrot ,green beans,chopped mint and chili powder,mix thoroughly.

  • Drizzle ghee into each mould of the appe pan and scoop in the batter to each mould.

  • Cook it on a medium flame and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Flip them over and cook for 2 more minutes.

  • Serve hot


Chili Moong:

  • Cut the moong dal idli(3) into cubes.

  • Add 2 tbsp of oil and roast the cut cubes until golden.Remove and keep it aside

  • To the same pan add a little more oil ,and saute 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste until the raw flavor goes off.

  • Add onion(½) cubed and saute for a few seconds.

  • Then add in ½ tomato that’s been cubed and keep sauteing

  • Add ½ tsp of soy sauce and chili flakes and follow it with cubed bell pepper(¼ cup)

  • Finally add in the Roasted moong cubes and cook for 1-2 minutes.

  • Serve hot!!
