TWO ITALIAN STARTERS

GRILLED GARLIC BREAD

A great starter, that’s so delicious, easy to make and a treat for garlic lovers.

Ingredients:

french bread              -1
butter                        -1/2 cup
garlic powder            -21/2 tbsp
salt                            -to taste
parsley dried             -1/2 tsp


Method:

  • Cut the french baguette into slices.
  • In a bowl mix unsalted butter(at room temperature),garlic powder ,salt and dried parsley together until well blend                          
  • Spread the flavored butter on one side of each slice.                          
  • Heat the electric grill on medium.                  
  • Arrange the slices and cook for 3-4 minutes each batch unril crisp.                          
  • Serve with any soup of your choice

BRUSCHETTA

Bruschetta is an Italian starter recipe that is made with grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with tomatoes,olive oil & basil.There are lot of variations with the toppings and here the toppings is made with avocado,tomato,olive oil and basil.


Ingredients:

For grilling bread:

french baguette                    -1/2 loaf
olive oil                                -1 tbsp
garlic clove                          -2

For Topping:

Tomato                –2 finely chopped

Dried basil              -1 tbsp
avocado                   – 1
olive oil                   -2 tbsp
salt                            -to taste
pepper powder          -to taste

Method:

  • Peel the skin off ,deseed and cut the avocado into cubes.
  • Mix all the ingredients listed under For Topping in a mixing bowl and rest for at least 20 minute.
  • Cut the baguette into slices.Drizzle olive oil and arrange in a baking tray.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 f and cook for 8-10 minute until golden.
  • Remove and rub the sliced garlic over the top of each slice.
  • Now serve the grilled bread topped with Avocado mixture
