Are you tired of the same old lunch options? Looking for something flavorful, easy to make, and packed with nutrition? Look no further! Today, we’re diving into the delectable world of Paneer Pepper Garlic Rice—a dish that’s not only mouthwatering but also perfect for your lunchbox.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup basmati rice
  • 3 cups water
  • A pinch of salt
  • A drizzle of oil
  • ¾ tsp peppercorns, crushed into a chunky powder
  • ½ cup paneer cubes
  • Finely chopped garlic
  • Chopped onions
  • Chopped spring onions
  • Chings dark soy sauce
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

1. Cooking the Rice:

To start, wash and set aside half a cup of fragrant basmati rice. In a pot, bring three cups of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and a drizzle of oil to prevent the rice from sticking. Then, add the rice and cook until perfectly done. Drain the cooked rice and set it aside for later.

2. Preparing the Paneer:

In a heavy-bottomed cast iron kadai, heat up some oil and fry ½ cup of paneer cubes until they turn a beautiful golden brown. Remove them from the kadai and set them aside.

3. Sautéing the Garlic:

Next, add finely chopped garlic to the kadai. Let it sizzle and turn golden, releasing its aromatic flavors into the oil. Now, it’s time to add our crushed peppercorns. The fragrance that fills the kitchen is simply irresistible.

4. Caramelizing the Onions:

Without wasting any time, toss in the chopped onions. Keep the heat high and keep stirring. We want them to get a nice caramelized color, enhancing the overall flavor of our dish.

5. Adding the Soy Sauce:

For that extra burst of umami goodness, add some Chings dark soy sauce. It adds depth and richness to our dish, taking it to a whole new level of deliciousness.

6. Combining the Ingredients:

Once everything is nicely sautéed, add the cooked rice. Mix it all together, ensuring that every grain is coated with those delightful flavors.

7. Adding the Paneer:

Now, get back our golden fried paneer cubes. These little nuggets of joy are going to add a wonderful texture and protein boost to our dish.

8. Garnishing:

Finally, garnish your Paneer Pepper Garlic Rice with fresh, vibrant spring onions. It not only adds a pop of color but also a hint of freshness to balance out the richness of the dish.
