A Sneak Peek into the Breakfast Buffet at Mishar Café, Park Avenue Hotel Bangalore

Hey foodies, welcome back to Mellowbites! Today, I had the chance to explore the breakfast buffet at Mishar Café, located inside the Park Avenue Hotel in Bangalore. If you’re curious about what this hotel breakfast has to offer, read on for my detailed review!

Arrival and Setup

We arrived bright and early at 7 AM, only to find that the buffet was still being set up. The space was compact, which meant that the selection was simple but interesting—a blend of South Indian classics and a comforting English-style breakfast.

South Indian Breakfast Spread

The South Indian side of the buffet featured several traditional options:

  • Idlis: Unfortunately, these looked a bit hard and unappetizing.
  • Crispy Masala Vada: A crunchy starter that promised a burst of flavor.
  • Sambar: A delicious, well-seasoned lentil dish that paired perfectly with the vada.
  • Fluffy Pooris with Aloo Bhaji: A comforting, home-style combination.
  • Semiya Upma: A popular, quick-to-make dish commonly found in South Indian households.

To enhance these dishes, they offered two types of chutneys—a creamy coconut chutney and a tangy tomato chutney.

English-Style Breakfast Options

On the English side, the buffet featured a straightforward yet satisfying selection:

  • Fresh Bananas
  • Bread: With a toaster station for perfectly toasted slices, ready to be topped with butter and jam.
  • Muffins and Cereals: Two different varieties of cereals to kick-start your day.
  • Beverages: Grape juice and hot drinks rounded off the meal.

Live Counter Experience

A key highlight was the live counter where the chef whipped up fresh orders on demand:

  • Dosas: Options included ghee roast, uthappams, onion dosa, and masala dosa.
  • Eggs: For those who love eggs, there were choices like masala omelettes, plain omelettes, and half-boiled eggs.
  • Chicken Sausages: Roasted upon request.

However, with just one chef handling all live orders, the service could get a bit slow.

My Experience and Overall Thoughts

I decided to try the masala omelette, which was served hot but was just okay—not particularly impressive. Since this was a complimentary breakfast as part of my hotel stay, it met the basic expectations. However, if you were to pay for this breakfast buffet, I wouldn’t rush to choose it over other options.

Conclusion

So, is the breakfast buffet at Mishar Café worth it? If you’re staying at Park Avenue Hotel in Bangalore, it’s a decent way to start your day. But if you’re planning to walk in just for breakfast, you might want to explore other options. Stay tuned for more food adventures and reviews on Mellowbites!
