Weekend Breakfast Buffet at Apollo Dimora – A Foodie’s Review

Welcome to Mellow Bites! This weekend, we indulged in a breakfast buffet at Apollo Dimora, and here’s our honest take on the experience.

Ambiance & Buffet Spread

The restaurant was spacious and well-lit, offering a mix of English and Indian-style breakfast options. From whole fruits and cut fruits to cucumber salad, flavored yogurt, overnight oats, and mini sandwiches, the variety seemed promising.

For refreshments, they offered apple juice, detox water, carrot juice, watermelon juice, and a vanilla milkshake. If you’re a bread lover, the spread included assorted donuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls, baguettes, muffins, brown bread, and a variety of spreads.

English Breakfast Selection

They served French toast with honey, oats, porridge, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, and hash browns.

  • The sandwich, layered with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, was quite good.
  • Overnight oats with chocolate chips were delicious.
  • However, the flavored yogurt was disappointing.
  • The waffles were too hard to cut and lacked flavor.
  • A bowl of cereal with milk was a safe and easy option.
  • Hash browns were different but just okay.
  • Baked beans lacked salt and flavor, making them quite bland.
  • The grilled tomato and French toast combination wasn’t impressive.
  • Among the bread varieties, the croissants were just average, while donuts and muffins tasted good.
  • We also tried an omelet from the live counter, which was just okay.

Indian Breakfast Selection

For Indian breakfast lovers, they had hot idli, masala uttapam, various chutneys, padi, and coconut oil—a staple in Kerala cuisine.

  • The sambar was colorful, loaded with red chilies, and well-tempered.
  • Idli wasn’t as soft as expected, but sambar and chutneys were flavorful.
  • The masala uttapam with veg korma was quite tasty.
  • The Malabar paratha had soft, layered textures, and it tasted amazing with chicken curry.
  • They also served crispy dosa and masala stuffed dosa on request.

Final Verdict

For ₹800+, the buffet had a limited spread and average-tasting food. Some dishes were enjoyable, but many failed to impress. Overall, we would not recommend this buffet, as it didn’t meet our expectations in terms of taste and variety.
