papdi lilva curry(Mochai payaru kuzhambu)

Ingredients:
Mochai payaru (papdi lilva)            –    300  g
onion                                                –    1 finely chopped
Tomato                                             –    2 finely chopped
garlic cloves                                     –    10 -12
curry leaves                                      –    few
tamarind juice                                  –   1/2 cup
oil                                                     –  2 tbsp
salt                                                    –   to taste
turmeric                                            –  1/4 tsp
chilli  powder                                   –   1 tsp
cumin powder                                  –    1 tsp
mustard seeds                                  –     1/2 tsp
urad dhal                                          –    1/2 tsp

Method:

pressure cook papdi lilva(mochai payaru) for 1 whistle and keep it aside

in a pan heat oil and temper mustard seeds and urad dhal

add the garlic cloves and curry leaves

now add the tomatoes and after a minute put salt,chilli powder,turmeric and cumin powder

After it blends well add the pressure cooked papdi lilva(mochai payaru)

 mix well and pour the tamarind juice and desired waterÂ

Cover with the lid and cook for 10- 15 minutes until nice aroma comes out.

Serve with rice and papad
