Hey foodies! I just had an incredible breakfast buffet at Banyan restaurant in Heritage Resort Madurai, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Picture this – as we entered the resort, it was like stepping into a calm, green paradise. Vintage cell paintings of a massive banyan tree adorned the walls, giving off those perfect heritage vibes.
The restaurant, oh my goodness! Living up to its name, the interiors were a masterpiece of heritage design. With glass openings that offered a beautiful view, the whole experience felt like a serene escape.
Now, let’s jump into the breakfast spread. For the English breakfast lovers, they’ve got you covered – eggless muffins, donuts, croissants, cinnamon rolls, and a variety of bread, including wheat, multigrain, and regular. And let’s not forget the healthy options – chia seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds – they’ve got it all.
But hold on, there’s more! Chicken sausage, boiled eggs, fresh fruits, sprouts, and even guava yogurt bowls. Although I have to admit, the guava yogurt wasn’t my favorite – taste is subjective, right?
For our Indian breakfast enthusiasts, get ready. Traditional kumbakul with vadagam, more milagai, and ajwain water – they’re really spicing things up. The main course? Methi paratha, potato curry, meduvade, paruppuvadai, fruitcasery, ragi semiya upma, ven poingal, mini milagu italy, regular italy – they’ve got it all.
And don’t miss the live counter – dosa and poori being whipped up fresh! Can we take a moment for the tea stall? Various tea varieties, and the best part – they make your tea just the way you like it. Sugar, jaggery, or whatever sweetener you prefer.
But here’s the thing, amidst all this foodie paradise, there were a couple of things we wished for. Firstly, the ambiance was so calming; we wished we could stay for a day at the resort. And secondly, as much as we loved the variety, a bit more salt in the dishes would have elevated the overall taste.
We shared our feedback with the staff, and guess what? They were super receptive. So, whether you’re a traveler, a mom, or just someone who loves good food and a charming ambiance, Heritage Resort is a must-visit. For just Rs. 450, you get a buffet that’s a feast for the senses. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts after you try it! Happy munching!
