Semiya kesari/vermicelli kesari

Ingredients

Semiya/vermicelli    – 11/2 cup
sugar                        –  1 cup
ghee                         –  1 tbsp
cashews                   – few
raisins                      – few
cardamom powder   -to sprinkle(optional)
food colour              – pinch(optional)

Method:

  • In a pan  heat ghee and fry cashews until golden and add the raisins .

  • When the raisins starts blowing add the vermicelli.

  • Fry it in ghee for a minute or two.(if you use roasted vemicelli skip this step)
  • Add 3 cups of water,food colourif necessary and  cover it with a lid.

  • Cook until the water is 90% gone.Open the lid and add the sugar.

  • Stir thorougly ,sprinkle cardamom and cover with a lid .Switch off the stove.
  • Cover for 5-10minutes.

  • Serve it and enjoy.

Serves 4-6
